Join our Asset Finance & Leasing (AFL) team, where you will play a crucial role in underwriting new deal proposals for the organization. You will ensure an effective, timely, and consistent risk-based approach in line with group policy and regulatory procedures.
As a member of the credit team, the ideal candidate will preferably be based near our Chester office. The successful candidate will have prior experience in underwriting credit for hard assets, demonstrate self-drive, excel as a team player, and possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers proposed to AFL by analyzing accounts, bank statements, credit searches, asset types, and dealer suitability.
- Assess asset values and obtain valuations through various sources such as internet research, Glasses Guide, CAP, auction sites, dealers, and personal experience.
- Perform desktop valuations using third-party platforms like Tallons.
- Ensure completion of necessary documentation and send it to customers for signing. Address any issues raised by the New Business team regarding deals, payments, invoices, and non-compliance with acceptance conditions.
- Maintain a daily diary system to contact brokers and assess the progress of deals. Update the file accordingly.
- Provide feedback on proposals to Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Area Sales Managers (ASMs).
- Collaborate with other divisions within the organization to safeguard company interests in customer deals.
- Work collaboratively with Underwriting colleagues, New Business, and Collections teams.
